Soulful modern jazz with addictive potential.
US bassist Joe Sanders, himself an accomplished star in the international, contemporary jazz scene, comes to the Museum Tinguely with such a top-class band in which each member could fill a concert hall of their own.
Sanders new album “Parallels” immediately captivates the audience with its subtle melody and elegant lyrics. It is touched by a sensitive, deeply rooted awareness of tradition and a vibrant groove that settles on the Tinguely artwork like a brisk fog.
Sanders sees creativity as a wonderful challenge to translate the flourishing potential and cumulative experiences of each artist into coherent and organic action, which the band accomplishes outstandingly:
Logan Richardson brings a vibrant intensity with his fiery, challenging solos, while Seamus Blake offers the perfect counterpart with his lyrical, rounded improvisations.
Kendrick Scott’s driving rhythms further fuel this grandiose concert.
Finally, Sanders delights with his warm, singing bass, which provides the nourishing ground for brilliant melodies even with more complex structures and fascinates with accentuated solo contributions. A special experience for the heart and ear, which will last for a long time.
