Built around Flip Philipp’s compositions, the band’s sound is wonderfully grounded and stylistically assured, for all its elegant nimbleness. Having an instrument line-up that, by its very nature is capable of a huge palette of tone colours, it opens up an enormous range of moods and feelings. That being said, Flip Philipp does not hold back when it comes to surprising twists and turns or inspiring drive.

Flip Philipp commenced his percussion training at Graz music academy at the age of 14 and went on to become first percussionist of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1990. As such he can look back on an impressive career in classical music as well as in jazz. Christian Salfellner, Johannes Enders and Oliver Kent are among the elite of the European jazz scene and have worked with countless greats, including famous American names. Born in Serbia in 1973, Milan Nikolic is a rising star in the jazz firmament, where he is beginning to carve out a name for himself. An outstanding team that’s impossible to ignore.
